Patriot I snort happily, flicking my tail and bending down to graze.

Time passed through the hot summer and now it was mid fall. Cylvia still hated Patriot but had grown used to him nuzzling her, nipping her, grooming her and well... Anything he did to her. Now she was heavily pregnant. She grazed silently next to Patriot who had now protected her from the humans about ten times. I suddenly gasped for air as I felt a kick. I lowered myself to the ground and grunted. My breathing getting faster and fade... Now we Unfade to a black little filly that is slowly starting to stand. Cylvia helps the foal stand and let's the foal nurse for the first time. She is so focused on the foal and so delighted that she completely blocks out its father, Patriot.

Patriot I look down at the little filly, smiling softly. I swish my tail and walk around so I am on the opposite side of Cylvia, not by her foal. I lay my head gently on her back, happily, enjoying the soft breeze against my face. I then move back, wary of being near her and her foal, as she still could be stubborn and hot-headed towards me at times. "What's the name?" I say softly, not to disturb the foal, but happily.

Cylvia All of the happiness left my body as I Heard Patriot. "I tired my head in his direction. "Her name is Night Sky." I say looking at her little star on her forehead. I block out Patriot again and nuzzle the foal. I started to groom it nice and slowly. It nickers softly when the Sind started picking up a little. I then looked up at the sky. It was cloudy and it looked like it was going to rain. I nudged to wobbly foal and very slowly lead the foal to the woods where there was lots if brush and trees to protect it from the wind. I paid no attention to Patriot and I knew he would figure out his own way. I laid down by a tree that has roots that were covered in soft grass and some small shrubs. Night Sky laid next to me and soon fell asleep. I groomed her as she slept expecting Patriot to step in any second now. I flicked my tail gently and looked up.

Patriot I watch her, calmly snorting. I remember the deal I made her a long time ago, but I also knew I cared for her. She would be captured again, her and her foal if she didn't stay with me. I knew that, so I trot slowly after her, shadowing her at a distance. She would notice me, but I wouldn't be anything more than a helping hand if a human came along, and a shadow anytime else.

Cylvia I snort softly and beckon him over with a quick twitch of my muzzle. He deserved to see his own foal. So he was going to see her. I looked at him gently and beckoned him over again. He knew the foal was sleeping so she knew he would be careful. I look at him with clouded eyes letting him no emotion even though I was curious if he would stay there or do as I said.

Patriot I walk hesitantly forward as she seemed to beckon me. I walk up to the foal, admiring the soft gleam of the afternoon sunset on her pelt and her closed eyes. I look at the little star on her forehead and smile softly. I look at Cylvia and breathed on the top of her head with my muzzle, but I didn't actually touch her. "She's beautiful." I murmur. I know that was a motherly comment, but it was also true.

Cylvia I awkwardly give him a small nuzzle. "She is beautiful." I glance back down at Night Sky who is shifting beside me slightly. I give the foal a very soft nuzzle before resting my head down on the ground and keeping my breathing steading as I slowly drifted off into my sleep.

Patriot I look at the resting Cylvia. Does that mean you want me to stay? I gave you promise, and I'll keep that promise. I don't say it out loud, jsut think it, not to wake Cylvia or the foal. I stand guard over her, but slowly drift to sleep. {You should have her wake to a cloth around her muzzle and a rope around her neck or something...}

{{Kk}} Cylvia My eyes blink open and I slowly raise my head to feel a rope tight around it. I attempt to whinny to Patriot but it comes out muffled and quiet due to a cloth that covers my muzzle that keeps it from opening. I look down at my foal to see that it is safe. I look up at Patriot seeing that he had a very loose rope around his neck so if he moves too much and to fast it tightens. I lash out a hoof at the ground in front of him and whinny louder this time. Hopefully loud enough to wake him. Night Sky wakes and blinks at me. I stand up and nudge Patriot while letting Night Sky nurse. I was tied to the tree. I lean up against the tree after Night Sky is done nursing. The humans were probably waiting him to wake before I see movement. I stand Over my foal protectively as they take the rope that was tied to a tree and untying it. They pull me and I reluctantly go along. I couldn't fight this time unless they got close and my foal was still needing help with walking. I nudge my foam to go a little faster as I leave Patriot behind.

Patriot I drearily open my eyes, looking for Cyliva. But as I turn my head a rope snaps around my neck. I writhe and buck, watching the rope slowly fray. My breathing is coming quickly and I am sweating. I will not be caught... I will not be caught and killed like my family... I will not.... I lash out my hooves but the pale creatures holding the ropes dodge and pull it tighter until it is hard for me to breath. I rear some more, neighing and whinnying frantically in panic, and eventually the ropes snap free. I take off at the fastest gallop you can think of, and all my muscles are pumping to exhaustion. Cyliva slips out of my mind, and I don't think of her until I collapse in a field a long way from the only peace that happened between my and Cylvia.

Cylvia I arrive at my old stall and nudge my filly in slowly. Night Sky was exhausted. She nearly collapsed as she was nursing. When she finished she laid down by my hooves. I nuzzled her and laid down myself exactly when I smelled my owner. I quickly nudged Night Sky to the corner of the stall. She fell asleep quickly as my owner opened the door. I whinnied loudly and angrily and rearing, kicking the air. My owner then changed her mind and closed the door. Before it was completely shut I kicked the door. One of the hinges broke, not allowing it to close as fast. I barged the door but it wouldn't bust. I snorted angrily as I blew my chance to escape. I go back to laying down next to my foal. I blocked Night Sky from human view. I then barely managed to just doze off.

Patriot I lay there, with my flanks heaving and my pelt slicked with sweat. I hear the whistles of the cowboys in the distance, coming my way. I lay my head on the ground, but when I can see them, I stand and bolt. The horses behind me though, could be trained racehorses and I was already tired. They draw on me, and when they get close, I hear exclamations of what great foals they would make out of me. I rear and buck, striking one of the humans of his horse. The others smell scared, but as I buck and rear ropes wrap around my body. I fall, a sweating and tired mess. They were better cowboys than I had ever faced before. I feel something strike me in the neck, and the word falls black. I only feel the soft sound of a human motor before I lose all my senses. *** I wake in a steel pen, outside. It's small, and mostly mud and dirt, not grass. I let out a terrified whinny, and louder and louder neighs. I kick the bars over and over again, my legs starting to buckle. My already dry from sweat pelt is becoming slicked again. My eyes are wide, and I'm lashing out at the bars, but none of my kicks even dent the bars. I hope Cylvia had gotten free, but I had the feeling she was here too.

Cylvia I hear whinnying and bickering. I flick my tail and perk my ears when I think it is Pateiot. "It's Patriot!!" I nicked under my breath. I whinny as loud as I can "Patriot!!" I whinny it over and over again. "Patriot!" A small break. "Patriot!"

Patriot I prick my ears, stopping in mid rear when I hear Cylvia calling to me from a distance. Suddenly the door to the barn opens, a stablehand leading a mare through. I rear and buck a little more, but Cylvia's call is clearer now. I prick my ears. "Cylvia?" I whinny questioningly. "Where are you? What is this place?" I take another rear, eyes wide and nostrils flaring.
